I have always been interested in this field but I really don’t know much about it. Do you work in a drug treatment center? Are your patients there by choice? Are you comfortable financially? There is no better example than Singapore possibly the safest place on Earth. Singapore has 12 times the population of Vancouver but just half the crime rate. But in addition to having a death penalty which they do not hesitate to exercise they also have severe penalties for lesser crimes as well. Also, I believe Singaporean culture based on Chinese society generates fewer criminals to begin with. It becomes difficult to say how much the death penalty itself contributes.
