Question by RJ: Can people be addicted or have problems with pornography?
I always thought it could be problem like gambling or othe addictions but online like wikipedia says it’s not. Then I read that since it’s put out by a certain ethnic group who controls that and mental health that they discredit it as a problem. What are some thoughts?

I have to write a 20 page paper on almost any subject but need to be more specific. It could be about the cause and effect of drug abuse over years at a time or it could be about addiction and its effect on the person’s relationships(including themselves). Im desperate right now, thanks (:

What Is a Good Remedy for Suicidal Thoughts?

Question by Waxy: What is a good remedy for suicidal thoughts?

Best answer:

Answer by Jeanette M
When a teen commits suicide, everyone is affected. Family members, friends, teammates, neighbors, and sometimes even those who didn’t know the teen well might experience feelings of grief, confusion, guilt — and the sense that if only they had done something differently, the suicide could have been prevented. The reasons behind a teen’s suicide or attempted suicide are often complex.

To help sort through these issues, and to learn the warning signs that your teen might need help, it’s important to understand the forces that can lead teens to suicide and to understand what you can do to help.

How Do I Help My Friend Who Confided in Me That She Is a Cocaine Addict?

Question by casey308: How do I help my friend who confided in me that she is a cocaine addict?

Answer by Katie W
Basically, you can’t.

You can be supportive –encourage her to quit, or go to police to turn in her dealer, or to go to rehab, drive her to support groups, etc — but YOU CANNOT TAKE RESPONSIBLITY FOR HER PROBLEM, even if she tries to give it to you. It’s handy for addicts to hand off the problem to someone else, so many try to give away the responsibility to a friend or family. This doesn’t work. This absolves them of failing, and gives them no responsibility/investment in success.
